Operational System Design
Operations / MonitoringCover / Snapshot
Problem Fragmented contact exchange weakens first impressions.
Approach A controlled smart profile card makes sharing instant.
Impact People leave with a clearer, more memorable identity handoff.
Problem
People still exchange contact details through fragmented methods — WhatsApp messages, business cards, screenshots, links, and manual typing. This creates friction, forgetfulness, and weak first impressions.
Design Challenge
“How might we make sharing identity feel instant, trustworthy, and memorable?”
Research Insights
Research and strategy are compressed into the three decisions that shaped the experience.
Core Flow
Principles: instant sharing, controlled identity, low cognitive load, premium first impression.
SCREEN 01
Shows welcome, primary card, and action entry points.
Primary card ready
QR action visible
Identity cue first
SCREEN 02
Presents the identity card, role, trust status, and quick actions.
SCREEN 03
Supports QR exchange and confirms contact saved state.
Outcome + Reflection
Reduced exchange friction and improved clarity during first interaction.
FloCard is not just a contact-sharing tool. It is a moment of identity transfer. The design needed to feel fast like software, but trustworthy like a carefully handed card.
CASE 02 — CARE SYSTEM DESIGN
Designing for safety, memory, and reassurance.
CASE 02
Problem Medication routines are fragile and caregiver visibility is delayed.
Approach Calm reminders and passive status make care easier to follow.
Impact Users and caregivers gain reassurance without extra complexity.
Unlike FloCard, where speed and identity dominate, ElderCare+ prioritizes clarity, reassurance, and safety.
Problem
Elderly patients often struggle with medication adherence, missing doses or taking incorrect medicines. Caregivers lack real-time visibility, creating anxiety and delayed intervention. Current solutions rely on memory, manual tracking, and fragmented communication.
Design Challenge
“How might we create a system that feels like a gentle companion, not a clinical tool, while ensuring safety and reliability?”
Research Insights
Persona focus: Sita Devi, 68, managing hypertension and diabetes while trying to stay independent.
Core Flow
Principles: gentle reminders, clarity over density, passive caregiver awareness, trust through simplicity.
SCREEN 01
Shows today’s schedule, adherence status, and next safe action.
Next dose first
Status stays calm
Care cue visible
SCREEN 02
Uses a soft prompt with one clear confirmation action.
SCREEN 03
Gives passive visibility and only raises attention when needed.
Outcome + Reflection
Improved medication adherence clarity and reduced caregiver uncertainty.
Designing ElderCare+ required restraint. The goal was not to impress with interaction, but to remove fear, confusion, and dependency. The system needed to feel like quiet support — always present, never overwhelming.
CASE 03 — OPERATIONAL SYSTEM DESIGN
Designing clarity for monitoring, tracking, and action.
Cover / Snapshot
Problem Operational teams see too much data and too little priority.
Approach Hierarchy, alerts, and tasks turn signals into action.
Impact Teams identify priority work faster and monitor results clearly.
Problem
Users managing operations often deal with scattered information, unclear priorities, and delayed decisions.
Dashboards tend to overload data without guiding action, making it difficult to understand what needs attention.
Design Challenge
“How might we design a system that helps users not just see data, but quickly understand what action to take?”
Research Insights
The design tone is more structured and analytical while staying within the same paper-board system.
Core Flow
Principles: prioritize clarity over quantity, highlight what needs action, reduce cognitive load, and use hierarchy to guide decisions. IA: Overview, Tasks, Alerts, Analytics, Settings.
SCREEN 01
Summarizes operational status, key metrics, and what requires attention.
Priority alerts first
Tasks grouped by action
Timeline supports quick scanning
SCREEN 02
Turns operational signals into trackable work with clear ownership and status.
SCREEN 03
Highlights critical alerts without overwhelming the rest of the dashboard.
Outcome + Reflection
Reduced time to identify priority tasks and improved operational awareness.
Designing the Planter Dashboard was about reducing noise. The goal was not to display more data, but to help users focus on what matters. Clarity is not about less information — it is about better prioritization.
